Weekend Storm Readiness

This weekend's nor'easter is shaping up to be a serious storm. However, nothing we in New England have not seen before. Nonetheless, it is best to be prepared for the worst.

Plan for your power to go out. Below is a list of essentials you may consider collecting before this weekend.

If you use a generator, remember:

-Generators must always be used outdoors, far away from doors, windows, and vents
-Homes should be equipped with working carbon monoxide alarms
-Follow manufacturer instructions
-Avoid refueling generators while running,

Before the storm reflect on how a power outage or inability to travel may affect you and your family. Do you have medical equipment that needs to be charged? A way to call 911 if the land line is down, in case of an emergency? Food that wont spoil without a fridge?
