Township Years of Service Ceremony

At the November Upper Merion Township Board of Directors Meeting on October 8th, members of Upper Merion Twp. Fire & EMS were honored for years of service and life saving efforts for the past year.

Once again one of our own was honored as the 2026 Bernard S. Gutkowski Firefighter of the Year! Firefighter Melissa Guziewicz is this year’s recipient of the award. Melissa has dedicated many years as a Firefighter, Admin Member and most importantly Chair of our Fire Prevention Committee. We would also like to congratulate EMT Daniel Baker of Upper Merion Twp. EMS who was awarded the 2026 Mary Bacchi Emergency Medical Services Responder of the Year. EMT Baker spent many shifts at Swedesburg while we housed a medic unit in the beginning of the year. In doing so, EMT Baker and the members of Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company have become great friends.
