This email was sent to our leadership team today!

Well done everyone!!!

Good afternoon, everyone!

As The Beatles famously sang, _“I get by with a little help from my friends!”_ And today was a perfect example of just how true that is in the fire and EMS world.

Within **four minutes**, Malvern Fire Company was dispatched to three separate emergencies: an ALS motor vehicle accident, a fire alarm, and a BLS medical emergency that quickly escalated to an ALS response.

As if three calls in four minutes weren't enough, the motor vehicle accident caused a power outage at the building where our medical emergency was taking place, leaving crews to navigate three floors of an unlit emergency stairwell while managing patient care. Because apparently we needed one more challenge!

Thankfully, we have some pretty incredible neighbors! Malvern Police, Willistown Police, East Whiteland Fire and Rescue, and Paoli Fire Company stepped up to assist with the accident, the AFA and medical emergency, demonstrating exactly why our mutual aid partnerships are so important. When things get busy, we know we can count on one another, and today was no exception.

I also want to give an extra-special shout-out to our newest paramedic, Stacy ! Today was Stacy's FIRST DAY with Malvern, and despite having already completed her scheduled shift, she didn't hesitate for a second to jump back in and staff a MICU when we needed her. Talk about making a first impression! Stacy, we're lucky to have you!

To everyone who responded, adjusted assignments, stayed late, stepped up, or helped make a chaotic few minutes run as smoothly as possible: THANK YOU!

Days like today remind us that no matter how many trucks we have or how much equipment we carry, our greatest resource will always be the people who show up for one another.

Great work, everyone. And to our friends at Malvern Police, Willistown Police, East Whiteland and Paoli — we appreciate you more than you know!

Deputy EMS Chief
