Selden Fire Department Hosts Countywide Junior Firefighter Extrication Training

This past weekend, the Selden Fire Department hosted the Suffolk County Junior Firefighters Association, welcoming more than 50 junior members from fire departments across the county for hands-on vehicle extrication training.

Participants received instruction in both fire and EMS operations at motor vehicle accidents requiring extrication. The training provided an opportunity to build practical skills and learn how firefighters and EMS personnel work together to safely remove patients from vehicles and provide care.
