Charles County Dive Rescue: Excellence in Training, Dedication, and Service

CHARLES COUNTY, MD – This past weekend, members of the world-renowned Charles County Dive Rescue Team successfully completed an intensive Swiftwater Rescue Technician training course, further strengthening the team's exceptional capabilities in responding to water-related emergencies throughout Charles County and surrounding jurisdictions.

The comprehensive training program included two days of classroom instruction, one day of pool-based training, and a final day of challenging, hands-on practical exercises conducted on the river. This specialized training reinforces the team's commitment to operational readiness, technical proficiency, and the highest standards of rescue performance.

As a result of this training, the team achieved the following qualifications:

3 new Swiftwater Technicians

1 Surface Water Technician

1 Swiftwater Operations member

4 Swiftwater Awareness members

Due to the highly specialized nature of their mission, Charles County Dive Rescue volunteers receive training and certification through their own nationally credentialed instructors, maintaining an exceptional standard of professional development and operational excellence.

Staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers, the team provides critical dive rescue, swiftwater rescue, and ice rescue services throughout Charles County and neighboring jurisdictions. These highly trained individuals willingly devote countless hours to preparing for some of the most dangerous and technically demanding rescue situations encountered in emergency services.
