WOW! What a Sportsman Bash!

The Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made our 3rd Annual Sportsman Bash our biggest and most successful fundraiser yet!

Each year, this event continues to grow, and this year truly exceeded our expectations. Last year, approximately 200 people attended, and we knew we would need to prepare for a larger crowd this time around. We planned and prepared to accommodate 280 people, but as the afternoon unfolded, it became clear that we had underestimated just how much this event had grown! With a designated person keeping a running tally, our final count reached approximately 354 attendees. While a few people may have been missed in the count, one thing is certain: we had an incredible turnout! We sold every ticket available and, unfortunately, had to turn away a large number of people after announcing that we were sold out. We are truly humbled by the overwhelming support!

When Mother Nature Had Other Plans

Our original plan was to hold the event outdoors under a large, rented tent that would have accommodated the majority of our guests. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a different plan. With a cold front approaching and forecasts calling for high winds and rain, the rental company canceled the tent installation due to safety concerns. All other tent rental companies were already booked, leaving us with some difficult decisions to make.

After considering our options, we decided to move forward by hosting the event inside our engine bay and purchasing a smaller tent to provide additional overflow space. As the doors opened and guests continued arriving, we quickly realized we needed more room. Our team adapted on the fly, setting up additional tables and chairs upstairs, along with extra food-serving tables, to help accommodate the crowd.

While things may not have gone exactly as originally planned, everyone pulled together, adjusted to the circumstances, and made the best of the situation. That is what teamwork is all about!

A Huge Thank You to Our Kitchen Crew

Our kitchen staff deserves a tremendous amount of credit for keeping the food coming throughout the event. The ladies worked incredibly hard, and the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. You kept everyone fed and happy despite the large crowd, and your efforts did not go unnoticed!

The only thing we apparently didn't have enough of was cake! That certainly says something about how much everyone enjoyed the day. To our kitchen crew, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and for putting so much care into making sure our guests were well taken care of. You ladies were absolutely amazing!

To Our Hardworking Volunteers

An event of this size doesn't happen by itself. Behind the scenes and throughout the day, our members and volunteers worked tirelessly selling raffle tickets, stocking drinks, clearing trash, assisting guests, keeping things organized, and handling the countless other tasks necessary to keep everything running.

Everyone stepped up, worked together, and did whatever needed to be done. We know that much of this work happens behind the scenes and may go unnoticed by our guests, but we want each and every person who contributed to know how much we appreciate you. Your time, effort, dedication, and willingness to work as a team are what make this event possible. We could not do it without you!

DJ Flea Kept the Crowd Going!

We also want to recognize DJ Flea, who received numerous compliments throughout the day. Guests and members of other fire departments, including those familiar with organizing large functions themselves, were impressed with his skills and music selection. He knows how to read a crowd, keep people entertained, and create a great atmosphere. Thank you, DJ Flea, for helping make the day even more enjoyable!

To Our Sponsors, Ticket Holders, and Supporters

To the businesses, organizations, and individuals who purchased tickets and supported our Sportsman Bash, we cannot thank you enough! Your support means more to us than words can fully express.

Every ticket purchased helps support the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department and our ability to serve the community. The funds raised through this event help us continue our mission of protecting the residents and visitors of Crisfield and providing assistance to our neighboring communities when needed.

We understand that people have many choices when deciding where to spend their hard-earned money, and the fact that so many of you chose to support our department means the world to us. We are truly grateful and blessed to have such a supportive community standing behind us.

To everyone who won a prize, congratulations! We hope you enjoy your winnings, and we appreciate you being part of this year's event.

Already Looking Ahead to Next Year!

As we look back on this year's Sportsman Bash, we are filled with gratitude, pride, and excitement for what lies ahead. We are already talking about next year and how we can continue to make this event even better. After this year's turnout, we certainly know we have a lot to live up to!

From everyone at the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department, thank you to our sponsors, ticket holders, prize donors, DJ Flea, kitchen staff, volunteers, members, families, and everyone who contributed in any way to making our 3rd Annual Sportsman Bash such an incredible success.

Most importantly, thank you for believing in us, supporting our mission, and helping us continue to serve the community we proudly call home.

Three years in, and we're growing stronger every year. We couldn't do it without you, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

With sincere appreciation and gratitude,
