| BEDFORD HILLS FIRE DEPARTMENT – FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 RECAP!
🔋⚡ “Charge Into Fire Safety™. Safe Charging Is a Superpower!”
Throughout Fire Prevention Week, members of the Bedford Hills Fire Department visited local schools and community groups to share important fire safety information, demonstrate firefighting equipment, and teach children and adults how to stay safe in the event of an emergency.
🚒🔥 OVER 800 CHILDREN REACHED! 🔥🚒
During our school visits, over 800 children were taught important fire safety lessons! From learning about smoke alarms and home escape plans to understanding how to stay safe during an emergency, our goal is to give children the knowledge and confidence to make safe decisions.
🏫 This year's visits included:
Bedford Hills Elementary School
Town of Bedford Senior Group
Country Children's Center of Bedford Hills
A Kid's World Childcare
West Patent Elementary School
🏠🚒 2026 BEDFORD HILLS FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE!
We wrapped up our Fire Prevention activities with our Annual Open House on Sunday, October 11th!
Despite the rainy weather, we were excited to welcome members of our community to the firehouse for an afternoon of fire safety education, family fun, and an opportunity to see what the Bedford Hills Fire Department is all about!
Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy live demonstrations, fire truck rides, face painting, refreshments, and activities for the whole family!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out despite the weather to support our department and spend the afternoon with our members. We hope everyone had a great time!
🔋 Remember: Safe Charging Is a Superpower!
Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day, including cell phones, tablets, laptops, e-bikes, and power tools. Following safe charging practices can help prevent fires and protect your family.

👏 A special THANK YOU to all the schools, teachers, staff, students, families, and community members who welcomed us throughout the week and attended our Open House!
We also want to recognize our dedicated BHFD members who volunteered their time throughout the week and helped make our Annual Open House possible. Your hard work and commitment to fire prevention and community education are greatly appreciated!
🔥 Fire Prevention doesn't stop when Fire Prevention Week ends! We encourage all residents and businesses of the Bedford Hills Fire District to continue practicing fire safety throughout the year.
