HUGHSONVILLE FIREFIGHTERS VISIT FREEDOM TOWER

Today, members of the Hughsonville Fire Department had the privilege of traveling to New York City to visit One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower) and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. It’s hard to believe that 25 years have passed since September 11, 2001, one of the darkest days in our nation’s history and in the fire service.

While in the city, our firefighters also had the honor of visiting FDNY Rescue 1. We extend our sincere thanks to the members of Rescue 1 for their hospitality, taking the time to give us a tour of the firehouse, and sharing their experiences with us.

We will never forget the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, along with all those who lost their lives. Their courage and sacrifice will forever be remembered.
