FEMA Assistance To Firefighters Grant Award

The members of the Granville Fire Company are proud to announce that we have been awarded a $137,142.85 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

This grant will allow the Fire Company to replace the turnout gear for all of our members, providing our firefighters with updated protective equipment to help keep them safe while responding to emergencies throughout Granville Township and the surrounding communities.

We are especially proud to have been awarded back-to-back Assistance to Firefighters Grants. Last year, the Granville Fire Company received a $91,714.28 AFG award, which helped fund the replacement of our self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Combined, these two highly competitive federal grants have brought $228,857.13 in funding to the Granville Fire Company for critical firefighter protective equipment.

For an all-volunteer fire company, securing nearly $229,000 in grant funding over two consecutive years is something our members are extremely proud of. These awards allow us to make major equipment purchases while reducing the financial burden on our Fire Company and the residents we serve.

Our members put a tremendous amount of time and effort into pursuing grant opportunities that allow us to continue improving the equipment and protection available to our firefighters. Most importantly, these investments help ensure that we remain prepared to provide the best possible emergency services to the residents of Granville Township.
