Even after Halloween festivities at the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department ended and the doors closed to the public, emergency calls continued to be answered throughout the night. After a busy day of community events, volunteers remained ready to respond to calls for help.

One recent call involved a large fire that threatened nearby trees, an RV, and motorcycles. San Leon Engine 1 responded quickly, beginning an immediate fire attack and bringing the fire under control. Their swift action prevented the fire from spreading to the RV, motorcycles, and surrounding trees.

These volunteers had already spent hours preparing for events, serving the community, and cleaning up afterwards. When emergency tones sounded, they answered without hesitation.

Being a volunteer firefighter is not just about being present when it's convenient. It means showing up whenever the community needs help—day or night, during celebrations, or after a long day.

The San Leon Volunteer Fire Department remains committed to protecting San Leon at all times. Our community relies on their efforts, and these volunteers continue to respond whenever needed.

We extend our gratitude to the San Leon firefighters for their sacrifices, dedication, and selfless service.
