Township fire companies and their automatic aid partners were dispatched Wednesday afternoon following reports of a house fire in the 1000 block of West Trindle Road in Silver Spring Township. Multiple calls were received by 911, and a visible column of smoke was observed during the response. Subsequent callers reported that a lawn mower was on fire at the rear of the residence.
Engine 33, staffed with five firefighters, arrived within four minutes of dispatch and immediately began handling the incident. Engine 225 and Squad 33, with three crew members, arrived shortly after. Engine 225 was prepared to supply water to Engine 33 if needed. Upon arrival, crews found a lawn mower and a UTV fully engulfed in flames, but confirmed there was no fire extension to any nearby structures.
Once crews verified that the fire had not spread beyond the equipment, the response was scaled back. Units remained on the scene for approximately thirty minutes.
