| On Sunday evening, October 25th, the St. James Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on Fifth Avenue, with initial reports of possible occupants trapped inside.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke showing from the residence, and a working fire was transmitted, bringing additional resources from neighboring departments.
Initial reports indicated that the fire originated in Halloween decorations outside the home, spreading to the exterior siding and extending into the attic crawl space.
Firefighters quickly located the fire and began suppression operations, successfully extinguishing the blaze and preventing further spread.
Thankfully, all occupants had safely evacuated the residence prior to the arrival of fire department personnel.
We would like to thank our neighboring mutual aid departments for their quick response and assistance.
