At 1518 hours Station 9(California), Station 3(Lexington Park), Station 6(Valley Lee), and Water Supply 5(Seventh District) were dispatched to the rear of 21698 Tammie Drive in California for the Working Barn Fire. At 1521 hours Engine 91 arrived on the scene, laying a line from the last hydrant on the street and reported a working fire involving a large Barn. Members from Station 9 and 3 went to work advancing multiple hand lines while Chief 3 established Command. Within 15 minutes Command requested 2 additional Companies for manpower alerting Station 7 and Station 83(Solomons) to the call. Engine 73 responded with 5 volunteers and arrived on the scene a short time later. The crew went to work assisting with overhaul functions. Command held Engine 73 for approximately a half hour before returning to quarters. Chief 3(Johnson) held the command and the fire is believed to be started by a lightening strike.
