Week after week, we continue to grow, and great things continue to happen at San Leon Volunteer Fire Department!
We are excited to welcome TWO MORE NEW MEMBERS to our growing family! One holds a Texas State EMT certification, while the other brings valuable experience as an industrial firefighter.
Our department is growing stronger, our experience is expanding, and our future is looking brighter than ever!
MORE GREAT NEWS — $55,300 DONATED TO OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT!
For the past several months, Chief Jody Garcia has been working behind the scenes with a private donor to secure additional funding for our department.
Last week, those efforts resulted in an incredible $55,300 donation to help cover PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and equipment grant needs!
This is a tremendous blessing for our firefighters and our community. These funds will help provide essential protective gear and equipment so our members can continue doing their jobs safely and effectively.
And guess what? THERE ARE STILL MORE POSSIBILITIES ON THE HORIZON!
We are continuing to build relationships, open doors, and explore additional opportunities to bring much-needed resources to San Leon Volunteer Fire Department.
NOW, LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR BUILDING EXTENSION!
I know many in our community have been wondering what is happening with the unfinished building extension. I believe in transparency, and I don't believe in leaving our community in the dark.
Let me make one thing clear.
I inherited what was here before I became Chief. I cannot change the past, but I CAN work toward solutions for the future!
My focus is not on pointing fingers, creating division, or dwelling on yesterday. My focus is on moving this department FORWARD!
Over the next several weeks, I will be meeting with multiple contractors and engineers to evaluate the existing structure, obtain competitive bids, and determine the best course of action to get this project dried in, completed, and ultimately delivered as a turnkey facility.
Once we have those evaluations and numbers, I plan to reach out to potential supporters, including our industrial and refinery partners, major law firms, businesses, investors, and private donors, to help turn this vision into reality.
I BELIEVE IN SOLUTIONS, NOT EXCUSES!
I also ask everyone to keep comments respectful and constructive. Negative or disrespectful comments intended to create division will be removed. We have a department to build, firefighters to train, and a community to protect.
MY VISION IS BIGGER THAN A BUILDING!
It's about building a stronger department, providing better equipment, improving training, recruiting experienced firefighters and medical personnel, and giving our dedicated volunteers the resources they deserve to protect the citizens of San Leon.
Leadership isn't about dwelling on what happened before you. It's about taking responsibility for what happens next!
The $55,300 donation is just one example of what can happen when you have a vision, put in the work, build relationships, and surround yourself with people who believe in what you are trying to accomplish.
To our generous private donor, THANK YOU! Your generosity is making a real difference for our firefighters and the people we serve.
To our members, their families, and our community, thank you for believing in the direction we are heading.
God continues to open doors, and I truly believe the best is yet to come!
WE ARE NOT LOOKING BACK. WE ARE MOVING FORWARD!
Great things are happening at San Leon Volunteer Fire Department, and we're just getting started!
