| At 15:59 fire resources were dispatched to the 500 block of Spruce Brook Road for a reported rollover with entrapment, fire, and power lines down.
A nearby Berlin PD officer that responded was able to pull the operator from the vehicle before it became fully involved.
Arriving firefighters extinguished the fire, which spread to nearby brush and grass. The operator was treated and transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, there were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. CT DEEP responded to assist with mitigation of hazardous materials from a transformer that was damaged. The road will remain closed while the scene is cleared of hazards and repairs to the utilities are made. |
