| TSFRS opened the doors to the public on Saturday October 24 when we held our annual Fire Prevention Open House. We welcomed over 450 friends and neighbors who visited the station that day. Our guests were provided with information on lithium-ion battery fire hazards and were treated to hoagies and chips. There were educational activities that included crafts and coloring and a pretend fire to be fought with a hose. TSFRS personnel provided a demonstration of vehicle rescue techniques and were present at all times so show off the trucks and equipment.
We were joined by our community partners from Western Berks EMS, who brought EMT Kermit along, Twp. of Spring Police, Westside Emergency Mgt, Spring Township Parks and Rec, and Berks County Search and Rescue. Giant Pharmacy and Dietary services were also on hand to provide free flu shots and healthy eating tips.
Thanks to everyone who visited, helped out and participated in a very successful event. |
