On Saturday Afternoon, members of the Cutchogue Fire Department were invited to be a part of a special Dedication ceremony held by the Riverhead Fire Department.

The Riverhead Fire Department was formally dedicating 3 new pieces of apparatus, Engine 6-2-14 (Eagle Hose Company No. 4), Brush Response Attack Truck 6-2-8 (Reliable Hose & Engine Company No. 1), and Chief's vehicle 6-2-31.

As part of the days festivities a traditional wet-down held to officially "christen" the new trucks.

A wet-down is a long standing fire service tradition where neighboring departments are invited to bring apparatus to officially welcome the new trucks into service by showering them with water.

CFD Quint 8-5-3 along with trucks from area Fire Departments participated in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony all of the participants and guests were invited to a reception at their firehouse.

The Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate the members of the Riverhead Fire Department on their latest acquisitions, May they bring you many years of safe service.
