It’s officially FIRE PREVENTION WEEK for 2026.

⚡️Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower! ⚡️

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe! 🔌🔋

Here at the 20 house, we believe fire prevention is year round, but we officially kick it off today!

This year during Fire Prevention Week, we’re shining a light on something we all use every day—lithium-ion batteries and charging devices. 📱💻🔋

A few simple charging habits can help reduce the risk of battery fires and keep our homes, families, and community safer.

Here’s some helpful tips that can help us all stay fire safe-

✔️ Use the charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer
✔️ Don’t charge damaged or swollen batteries
✔️ Keep charging devices away from beds, couches, and other flammable materials
✔️ Unplug devices when they’re fully charged or not in use
✔️ Never ignore signs of battery trouble—heat, swelling, leaking, or unusual smells can be warning signs

Together, we can all keep our community safe from tragedy.

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.
